Good Morning!!
I hope youāre finding some peace this weekend – I know most schools have started back and this time of year can be crazy. Gentle reminder to breathe deeply (at least before your meals) to remind your body that itās safe.
Iām sharing another podcast today – this one from Andrew Huberman – as a reminder, heās a Neuro Scientist at Stanford. And yes, heās caught some bad press around his personal life, recently. I have no idea whatās true and what isnāt. What I do know is – heās great at his profession and I still find him to be very educational. And for these purposes – thatās what matters.
I digressā¦
Did you see my āSubject Lineā today? ā¦if you missed it:
š¶ This One’s For The Girls š¶
Do you have the Martina McBride song stuck in your head now? š Sorry, couldnāt help myself. And if you have no idea what Iām talking about – click that link above.
Todayās share is more female-centric. That doesnāt mean the men here shouldnāt give it a listen, perhaps in the company of your female partner. I believe strongly that the better educated we are about our partners – what they go through in their bodies, etc – the more our relationships can thrive.
Huberman interviews Dr, Stacy Sims who has PROFOUND knowledge on the female body – our hormones, how we should be working out to best support our cycles, how we are not just āsmallā men, etc, etc.
I first learned about her when I was racing triathlon – Iāve been following her for many years. Sheās been influential in the way I care for my own body and I use some of her coaching tactics in my own practice with clients.
She shares a lot of info in this podcast. I do wish she dug more into the nuance – youāll understand that more once you listen – but I believe youāll walk away feeling affirmed and validated in some of the choices you make for your self-care that push against what society tells us. She also offers some helpful takeaways.
Per usual with Huberman, itās a long listen – 2:30 hours or so. But worth your time. Hence my sharing here.
Iām always here for clarifications and questions!
Sending a big hug and another reminder to BREATHE!
xoxo
